wat do /adv/
i got a lady who ive been with for about 8 months now, and she has abnormally bad self esteem issues. she blames herself for pretty much everything that goes wrong, regardless of how petty or small it is. then, she gets upset when i reassure her shes done nothing wrong, because she claims i shouldnt have to go through this. how do i get it across to her that helping her, or just reassuring her, isnt a burden?

her pigeon-holing parents wont allow her to accept professional help for "issues that arent there", else theyll cut support. theyre the source of her problems, they werent very understanding of pretty much anything when she was in her teens

Parents are clearly a major part of the issue and if you truly want to help her - you need to encourage her to become independent and start therapy. I'm going through something vaguely similar to this myself.
