in my opinion the best option is jumping off a building. unfortunately it doesn't really have the 'takes long for others to find you' thing, but honestly why do you want to make people suffer like that? i know it sounds better to think you disappeared but no ones gonna assume you jsut ran off and found your happy ending.
go to the tallest building and jump. it will be like a roller coaster, except you die.
