changing steam account name

So I spent 4 hours looking up online about changing your steam account name (the one on the top right corner and later found I couldn't but if I could access dev mode I could do it myself.) I'm kinda thinking of beating my head cause I've spent over $230 worth of games on my account this thing is killing me. I know that nobody can see it publicly but I hate seeing my account name different that from my current username. What should I do anon?
Isn'the top right thing your account log in, which should be kinda secret?
Is it visible to other people?

It's that i find it annoying as hell to see my account name different than my username (my account name is NOT my real name) its my email
