More accurately, how do I stop having such unrealistically high standards? I'm 4/10, 22, haven't had any romantic prospects for two years, and have a girl who's been in love with me forever. But I just can't do it, because I feel like I could do better. But that's obviously not true, and I have an inflated sense of attractiveness

If you don't love them- don't bother. You'll hurt everyone involved.
There's nothing wrong with having standards, if you're not happy with the person you're seeing- keep looking until you are.
You need to realize that there are more people out there for you and her. You could go for it, but it sounds like you're pretty convinced you're not really into it, and that's fine.
But do yourself the favor and go meet more people, you totally deserve to be stoked about whoever you're with.

If you feel like you can do better, then DO BETTER. If you're a 4/10 because of your fat then get fit, the ugly face isn't a big deal. I'm one ugly motherfucker and i've had thousands of chicks just by doing 3 things: staying in a decent shape (you don't need to be Schwarzenegger, just avoid being obese or anorexic), talking smoothly and believing in myself.
