I keep waking up with numb/tingling hands and it hurts to even try to make a fist. Is this carpal tunnel? What should I do?
It probably isn't carpal tunnel, it probably has a more fundamental problem to do with circulation. If your family has a history of heart or blood pressure problems, it might be worth getting a checkup.

easy way to tell. Do you have strong erections?
>>17178328
define "strong"? i never have a problem getting it up and keeping it up
>>17178298
Well I can tell you this: tingling or pins-and-needles sensation is all about circulation, not carpel tunnel. If you have carpel tunnel, it's more like a cramping or arthritis flare WHILE you are doing the strenous work (typing, piano, guitar).

frozen banana, not brown banana. Also try taking an anti inflammatory like benadryl.

Do you sleep in a weird position? Is it only in one hand or both? Got spinal issues?
In any case, go to your general practitioner/family doctor to check it out.

If it's in both hands it's less likely as carpal tunnel is a mononeuropathy. This is essentially a peripheral neuropathy that would warrant a few specific blood tests. Are your feet ever involved? Is the area of involvement progressing? See your doctor.
