You can very well have a sexless romantic relationship if that is what you are looking for.

In my experience, the moment a friendship turns into a quasi I-want-to-satisfy-my-sexual/romantic-urges (for most guys, but not all, sexual urges seem to come hand in hand with the sweet fuzzy fee fees), there is a lot of drama and tension in the relationship and it can easily devolve into shitfighting political king-of-the-hill bullshit where you pull each other's aggro on other platonic friends of the opposite sex/gender and exclusivity-not-exclusivity sort of deal. Without the sex, it's a wonder how any such relationship even perpetuates.
