Take two extra years to get an engineering degree from an Ivy League school, or start my military career and not miss out on a career field that I'm interested in with age restrictions?
I have a cousin and a friend. Friend just finished uni and got out and makes 65K/yr entry level, loves engineering. My cousin has been Army for close to a decade, loves killing people. So which do you like more, engineering, or killing people? Pick that one.

look at all of you jokers thinking anon will ever seen combat, if he enlists as air force or navy there's like a 1% chance, if he enlists as anything else the chance is still so tiny that he'll see combat but he deserves it because he chose inferior options.

Don't 1st year O-1s (your rank if commissioned) only make 31k a year? Keep the pay chart in mind if money matters a lot to you.

You're only an O1 for six months. Plus you also get BAH, which is about 10-12k annually tax free. Plus there's other forms of special pay.
You can make O3 within 2-3 years.
