So I'm 24, and I failed to get into my number one University. Because of this, my mom is kicking me out of the house, and pretty much cutting all forms of support. This sucks and all, but what I want to know is...
What do i need to know about surviving in the world by myself? I'm currently going through some legal issues, so she said that I can stay in her house until that's settled. I currently have no job, but am planning to find one ASAP and saving up so that I have some basic money for rent and food, and anything else that might pop up. My main concern is that I've got pretty bad asthma, and she's removing me from her insurance, so I won't be able to afford inhalers.
I'm slowly compartementalizing everything, but any advice would help.
Man what a jerk. I can't offer any advice since I still live with my mom but you can try applying for any government assistance that you're eligible for. There's a site that lists them assuming you're in the US. http://www.benefits.gov/

Nah, I'm assuming I getting a minimum wage job until I get back on my feet. I've got an associates, but I'm struggling to find a job for it. I'm assuming life is going to be shit for some years, just trying to get an idea of what I've got to be prepared for.

Welcome to learning how to stand on your own two feet.
My suggestions are this
1)look to see what renting a room costs. You won't be able to live in your own apartment
2)create a mock budget for food so you know what you're going to spend
3)no nore eating out. Cook at home
4)no more buying video games. Don't be a faggot.
5)download and learn the shit out of Microsoft office (excel and access primarily) and quickbooks for businesses. You won't learn it in a month. Expect to study and learn for half a year. These will be key for you when trying to get a better job.
6)try to compromise with your mom on the health insurance since you're moving out. I believe the max age she can keep you on is 26
