Why would Amazon send me a package certified mail? I get stuff from them all the time, this is the first time. It's nothing expensive at all.

Did you accidentally tick the box asking for special delivery? Or sometimes they have a day when everyone gets special delivery, just to promote the service.

Nope. It is just a hassle to now to have to try to race down to the post office after work to get there 5 minutes before it closes to pick up a $10 item..
It makes me wonder if they collaborate with outside parties to try to verify addresses.
