Sharp pain in my ass

Very occasionally, I get a short, sharp pain in my ass. This has happened for years but its usually rare, maybe once or twice every few months and just one or 2 jolts. It makes me spring my pelvis forward and clench my cheeks, really sharp pain. Its just strange that its so rare.
It happened this morning, but 3/4 times in fairly quick succession. The first time its been like that.
Does anyone else get this? Know what it could be?

"Ass" is too general as it covers too large an area. Where specifically? Tail-bone area, anus, ass cheek, inside the rectum?

Sorry I wasn't clear there. Its inside. I can't really pinpoint where but quite shallow. Not in my intestines or anything
I guess the next step is to investigate further. Is it shallow enough to feel? I know its weird to stick a finger inside, but if you can, and you feel something like a little bulb, you have a haemorrhoid. Does it hurt when you shit? Does your shit look dark/black?
If not, then you'll have to look at other possibilities. Try Googling specifics. Otherwise see a doctor. Pain shouldn't be ignored - especially sharp pains. Dull aches are usually muscle complaints but sharp pains are your body trying desperately to get your attention.

Same thing used to happen to me. When I stopped forcing my stool out so hard that's when the jolts stopped.
