How can I subtly make a refrigerator stop working? The complex I live in was built in the 80s and this still has the original fridge in it, and every single unit I saw, including three that my friends live in, have new fridges from within the last 10 years. This thing is insanely loud, barely even keeps food cooled, and draws a crazy amount of power. I know it's a shitty thing to do but it's on it's last legs and it's a cost of maintaining an apartment complex for them to replace stuff like this.

Crank it down to as cold as it will go, then leave it open (freezer too) for a while. The motor will overheat and burn itself out trying to keep up with the thermostat.
