I deleted my FB 4 or 5 years ago.
It's a datamining device and no one says anything important there. All it is is drama you don't care about, political trash and mundane fucking bullshit. People will post about the burger they had for lunch like who gives a fuck?

Don't make one if you don't want one.
Calls, texting, and real life is friendship and "keeping contact". If you only talk to someone on facebook then they aren't really a friend to begin with.

I don't think too many people use FB anymore, so I definitely wouldn't make another.

Honestly, the reason I've been considering making one is because I met a dude at a party a few weeks ago and I feel like we really hit it off, but I had to leave unexpectedly so I didn't get his number. I know creating social media isn't a big deal, but the thought of making one gives me anxiety. I don't know why, but it always it always has.

I've never had a single social media account and I'm very happy with that choice. I don't think you need it at all and often it's a big waste of time and an unnecessary stressor and distraction.

As a guy I'm in the exact same position. It seems like social media is important to work, and although it hasn't stopped me from getting girls interested I feel like it would have helped.

Don't bother with them. Honestly it's just a place for your friends to brag and tell half truths about what's happening in their lives.

I'd say make one but don't ever actually post anything on it as employers look at social media now a days and it's really not worth the headache it might cost down the line. However not having one looks very suspicious to employers which is why I'm saying to keep one for appearances only.
