Thinking about getting a MacBook. Which model is the best bang for my buck?

Yes I know Apple products are horrendously overpriced, but I weighted the pros and cons, and I think I want a MacBook because:
1. Not many viruses for OSX - there are some, UT not as much as there are for Windows. Just destroyed my HD on my old laptop, and I've lost all of my files on it. Good thing my important files are in emails or Drive, the only thing I lost was my meme collection, but I don't want it to happen again, especially with more important files.
2. I want to develop apps, and as you all may know, you can't develop Apple apps on Windows. I need a mac for that.
3. Apple may be a bunch of kikes trying to take your money, but the quality is pretty damn good, I must say.
I'm thinking of getting the 13 inch MacBook Air with 8gb ram and 256 gb ssd.
Also can you play certain high profile pc le gems on MacBook as well?

I'm no guru but with some googling you can learn you can "develop apps" under windows.
This reminds me of two friends, one studying liberal arts and one an architect, I have no fucking clue who told them that Macs are the best for their careers but half a year later they were trying to sell their macs because they couldn't work for jack shit on Mac. Also "best" software for their needs was on windows.
About viruses it doesn't matter your OS, but as long as you got common sense you will not catch a single virus.

That's what I thought to, until my HD spontaneously stopped working. I don't know, maybe I'm retarded, bit that would mean getting one would decrease my chances of getting a virus like an idiot.
