Did I fell in love with a girl in my dreams?

When I was with my now exgirlfriend, in my dreams there a lot a times was her present. But not actually her. She looked different, acted slightly differently but I knew it was her because I loved her.
Now, after a half a year after I lost her, I found a girl to which I'm starting to feel something and again, there is this girl in my dreams which is her but not completely her. It's like my ex's and current girl's best personality trades melted into this character. Later in the past relationship I wanted to find the trades of the girl from my dreams in my ex but it wasn't there, just in my head. The same is happening now.

I feel empty.
