Why do I often have a sense of dread at night, and how can I stop having it?

Strip.
No seriously, just be completely nude and lie in bed. Its incredibly comfortable, feels better to sleep like this too.

What is it you're dreading, OP?

I do that every once in a while when my sleep pants are pissing me off--feels good, man.

I just have this sense of dread, without specifically dreading anything. I read a Wikipedia article about night dreads once, but now I can't find it.

I feel dread at night too.
Though, its probably not because of the same reason as you OP.
I wake up knowing that I'll be greeted with everyday mundane bullshit that people call a "normal" life. At night, I dread the next day lying awake in bed, as I keep searching my thoughts looking for ways to escape or regretting the things I've done.
is it around 3 am? Satan's hour?

a lot of folklore and urban myths are connected to the time of 12 am and 3 am depending on the region you are in
