Started talking to my ex girlfriend again. We were deeply in love, but distance and mental hurdles drove us apart (primarily me from her). We recently caught up, the attraction was there, the good times were there, but she started talking to someone two or three months ago. She doesn't refer to him as a boyfriend, only as "the person I'm talking to."
We've both worked on ourselves and it seems we're better for each other than ever before thanks to time apart.
I've made some romantic gestures, she appreciated them but is nervous and afraid of getting hurt again (debating playing it safe with this new guy)

What do I do now?

a) she's fucking the new guy (this isn't really debatable unless you have a REALLY good reason to think she's not). Have been in your situation and have seen others' situations where the girl has literally used these exact words.
b) tell her you want to get back together, that you've made some changes, and that if she's willing to give the two of you a chance, you will show her those changes. If she says no, walk.
How did you two start talking again?
Did you simply call her?

Reached out wanting to catch up, she came over. We've hung out one more time since.
Trying to give her space at the moment because she's admitted she needs to make a decision.
