What are the odds of someone spending over 5 grand on a household decorative item i.e. bedding, a rug, etc? If I had $8000, I'd be able to afford comfort and something to look forward to, which would be enough to keep from killing myself.

used items go for little to nothing, that's the only reason strangers buy them. if you have to ask they're probably not valuable.

It's not used, it's new and handmade.
My parents bought a mattress for 8000 my dad was injured in the gulf war and has PTSD his bed is his comfy spot where he goes after working hard to look forward to.
If it was something actually that valuable like a painting, then yes, it's plausible that they spent that much money on it.
