Alrighty I need to find out what Internet I should get in my area.

Long story short I've lived in California up until I graduated last year and I now live with my grandfather. After working for about 5-6 months I would like to acquire some internet although I am having trouble figuring all this out at age 19.

It looks like the northern part of the United States simply doesn't have the same providers as many other parts of the country, which makes this a bit confusing for me.

I've narrowed it down to Midco and SRT although I am wondering if perhaps I am looking at this wrong? What are the typical main Internet providers and I'm assuming I would just need a certain kind of Internet for just a laptop?
