I was thinking of making a visual novel just based on memes for the /sp/ haxball league, but then i loaded up renpy and remembered i'd have to code

im just a glorified ideaguy and even if i could write the script of the story, figure out the memes/scenarios, acquire pics/screenshots of the site...i'd still have to do rote bullshit like labeling "image bg meme1 = meme1.png" and shit like that
how good is renpy at streamlining this? where i can just tell the program where a file is and it can "fill in the blank" and just write the code for me as it were, similar to flash being able to do stuff like that when i was lazy back int he day uploading shit to newgrounds
and if renpy isnt good at this...what alternatives are there?

We're not really the place for this sort of thing, but /vg/ has a couple of running threads that may be able to help you. Look for the Amateur Game Development General thread (which is usually tagged with /agdg/ to make it easier to find in the catalog) in particular. English Visual Novels (normally tagged /evn/) may also be able to help.
