How do I distance myself emotionally from a woman that considers me her guy best friend? I don't like a large group of people so the people I talk to on the regular is really low. We both fell for each other but we both hurt each other on separate occasions. Now she is casual but keeps me close and I need to detach myself without hurting her.

Any tips?

I was in a similar situation about half a year ago.
I told her straight out that I felt uncomfortable with our relationship and that I was going to distance myself from her.

She was hurt ofcourse but I don't think there is a good way to tell anyone this.

It helped me as I was able to get my emotions in order again.

Not saying this is a good solution but it's a option.
