I've often read the advice to go to a bar to meet new people. I am no social awkward and I do have friends, but I'd like to know how specifically you get to know to new people in bars? Because whenever I go to a bar with my friends we choose an empty table, order our drinks and just talk and drink and smoke. We chill by ourselves. Do you just join a strange group? Do you start talking to them? I also rarely see a person alone on a bar. What do you do if you go alone into a bar and want to meet new people? I feel like bars are more like a place for people going to drink and chill among themselves (in contrary to e.g. a club).
