I love this girl that loves me back, but long story short, we're not very good in a relationship together. She's hot as fuck, but I manned the fuck up and broke it off with her awhile ago, but she's been sniffing around and I may have (stupidly?) started hanging out with her again and the temptation to fuck, you guys, the struggle is real, we have an intense connection. She wants to get back together, but I told her we can hang but I'm going to date other people for my own peace of mind and she knows this.

My question is, how do I explain this to my dates? I don't want to be dishonest, is the casual dating explanation enough?

Also, am I doing the right thing with my ex? Fuck.

Usually I assume things are not exclusive unless stated otherwise. If you want to tell your dates that you are seeing other people that's up to you but generally I don't find it necessary.
