I'm a bourbon fan. The we'll at my local bar is Buffalo Trace which I enjoy a lot. Builet Rye or Bourbon is great also. Woodford is a bit pricier, but better. Personally I think the easiest drink to have that would ease you into it is a Kentucky Mule. That'll be bourbon and ginger. If you don't enjoy bourbon there is the Moscow mule with vodka instead or Mayan mule with tequila. You've never had a drink before period?
