BIID is a lot like OCD in that it involves obsessive/compulsive thoughts and behaviors regarding wanting to be crippled, amputate a limb, etc. what this means is that you can't get rid of these thoughts on your own; you'll really need to see a therapist or psychiatrist. they can work with you to determine why you think the way you do and what positive behaviors you can develop to stop it. some examples of what you might do include CBT, and maybe treatment with an anti-anxiety medication.
