Is not having any money worth not going to college? If you've got the smarts and the drive theres no reason not to, you can pay loans off pretty easy if you go to a small state college and get a major that isn't liberal arts.

I personally think it's awful. I had an unsubbed loan for a bit and watching the interest accrue was maddening to me. I think if it's your only option and you can get one, a subbed loan wouldn't be too bad.
