Anyway, I'v been chasing the illusion of a decent maternal relationship for a long time.
Is it healthy to find a substitute parent into adulthood? Can early childhood damage even be fixed?

Lol childhood damage is irreversible but through processes of reasoning can be turned to positive effect. Unfortunately, much of it is founded upon the idea of being in control of your own actions and opinions, so blaming mommy would be out the door. I doubt you'd be interested.

All i got from a no-love childhood was some masochistic personality disorder mixed with traits of borderline. Step one was getting the fuck out at age 18, then breaking contact with dad - who some years on died - then i broke all contact with mom about 4 years ago and my life has only improved since. I have no other family.
