How can I reject a friend who obviously has feelings for me without damaging our friendship ? He hasn't said anything explicitly, just dropped some weird innuendos, but common friends have been telling me how much he likes me and it's starting to get slightly uncomfortable. I want things to be like before.
He's 25, I am 24 and we met at university 3 years ago.

Not possible. Even if he's ok with being 'just friends' after this comes out, things will always be weird and awkward.

Just be straight with him and be ready to accept that he might not want to be around anymore. Let him know you'd like him to stay but it's okay if he wants to leave. But be clear that romance is not happening and try to avoid innuendo or flirtatious behavior towards him, because it will be taken the wrong way.
