I usually call him "sailor" or "senor" endearingly. When I greet him I say "hey sailor" and when I am calling for him I occasionally say "Ohhhh senoooorrrrr!" Or I'll say something like "senor pls hold my hand" if I'm trying to be cute. Just in a playful way. If I'm being serious, I call him by his name.
In return he calls me "toots" like a 50's army man. I actually enjoy this way more than babe or baby.

I have the same problem. My bf calls me all sorts of cute names, mosty baby or hunny but he calls me cute names a lot of the time. I never call him anything, I've said hunny and love a couple of times but it always felt a bit weird. I have no idea what to call him, I sometimes wanna call him baby or hunny. I don't know if he wants to be called something, I once asked if I should since he does but he said he calls me whatever comes to his mind and feels natural at the moment. Maybe I'm just not cheesy enough since I don't do it naturally like a reflex.
