Yes, diapers tend to be a subset of BDSM with the sub/dom dynamic. Most of what you see in threads like this are the sub side. With diapers, the wearer gives up many levels of control one normally expects in adulthood. You are not being trusted to make it to the bathroom on time, you are not allowed to change yourself (with partner involved,) your clothing is often limited so that your diaper is visible (on the ageplay side,) etc. This secession of control can be played with by the dom in more than one way; being used to comfort and relax the sub, or various degrees of hardcore play that might involve spanking or humiliation.
