Despite this probably becoming edgy as heck (which isn't necessarily bad, but not exactly what I like), how blunt all the characters are after only a few pages has me laughing, but also feeling sad for Ugly-chan.
"You're ugly and your life's not worth anything anyway, so you might as well just wish for something." It feels persuading, but at the same time pitying and maybe empathizing.

Now this is the interesting part.
She was arguably content as an ugly nobody even if people treated her like shit. Being a maybe famous and beautiful girl with a doctor lover in the end is better on paper but knowing what she knows, that maybe she is a moment from oblivion, that maybe it all is an illusion, is she better off?
She was fine with things until the devil forced her to take responsibility for her situation, be it better or worse.
So was she just in denial and the devil forced her to confront it?

Ah man, feels like the age of one-shots was the early 2000s with snoopycool and omanga making it easy for us to find good one-shots. Now you got to find em yourself and that's hard.
