You'll probably enjoy it. Yeah, I'd say it's a good entry movie for anime. It's one of those anime that's so popular almost everyone's seen before.
I do have to say though, if you like the movie and you don't mind reading, check out the manga after, the movie cuts a lot of content to condense the runtime down.
