Honestly, I don't think I would need to watch anime if knew how to read manga, games and VN in japanese. I'd never be cuckblocked by scanlators stopping translating a series less than a volume in and I could just read a LN/WN if I wanted to get closer to the feeling of watching an anime since these novels are pretty much the only thing they adapt these days.
The only problem is that I don't know if I would waste a big opportunity like this on learning japanese instantly. There are way better things out there.
Bottom line is that I don't see the point of not making a wish since you can get away with losing practically nothing.
