This chapter is actually very very interesting as the garden kids that were literally made by V are going against them by helping Kaneki while Matsuri who was against Yoshitoki is showing his true feelings for his father. It's like people switching sides is a common thing and we still got that Tatara/Seidou thing going on

Judging by Arima's comments, I'm going to guess the Washuu are half humans since becoming human through selective breeding is their main goal. Yoshitoki seemed to be a half human with a kakugan. He could even eat normal food with no problem. Same for Matsuri as well.

Although I believe it was obvious since the begining that it was just a mandatory phase after the Arima fight, it was enjoyable and created some sort of unique character unlike Code Geass.
Even if some people think that it was poorly handed I'd say it's the best one in the genre by miles.

This exactly. He had a lot of time to do something but he chose not to. Well, his choice was to sit and wait his daughter would drop by and have a cup of coffee and everything magically healed itself. Curious. In a way it does reflect a bit Kaneki's torture introspection. Yoshimura chose to be on the martyr side and suffer for her instead of choosing to save her. He thought he was doing the right thing by letting her be but what he was doing was in fact abandoning her again by being absent. A parent who lets their confused child do anything they want is a parent that doesn't know how to choose what's the best for their child.
