Cause that's what they do with every original animation project. Greatest genre show ever from the people who brought you x and y with theme songs from all your favorite of our 5 or so artists like Lisa and Eir Aoi. It'll pick up and sell 6 -7K minimum in the long run just like Haifuri and other generic crap they mass market the shit out of once all the benefits, tie-up and event tickets are sorted out since the show has plenty of names to pimp out in every direction.
I expect this to flop but I hope it is because it was announced today.

She's always affiliated with them. Also I'm not sure she's one of the biggest names in anisong so much as one of the most aggressively promoted but you know Aniplex. It's felt like she's been trending down since Fate and really only had the big hit tieups with already previously established hits like Fate, Key etc. If she keeps up with getting assigned to the bullshit projects that she's apparently supposed to help carry rather than the other way around I expect her relevance to fade pretty fast.

It is on the low side for Aniplex originals but it'd also not the show in their coveted Sat12AM timeslot which I believe I'd actually Rewrite and the Key appeal again or this go around which just seems to be getting substantially worse reception than Planeterian anyway. By comparison they went fucking g ballistic with Haifuri's marketing. Like nothing else had close to that level of marketing last season. By comparison this feels like some other company is behind it. Maybe they realize some people are starting to get tired of the tard level overmarketing that yields middling improvements in returns at best and just overhypes people into enraged disappointment by the end but I doubt it, they're probably just holding back till all the events and shit get sorted out.

Yet usually this works better than most things. I still think it's a matter of giving it time. Aniplex really likes to rely on benefits, event tickets and whaling promotional schemes to carry shows like these. It usually take till around the middle of a season to get all this stuff organized.

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but most if the times they do have a regular amount of publicity with magical suffering and idolshit.
Madoka for example was low on the radar but it had publicity on places besides Akiba so once shot hit the fan on ep.3 people hyped the shit out of the show.
I doubt shock effect on people watching this will work because it has a large cast.

It was negative publicity starting with its very announcement.
I stopped following the series after OT ended, I tried the first 3 from NT and the third confirmed it was crap writing with poor editing and planning.
I wasn't that much of a fan but what I heard from the event was pure bullshit mocking the fans.
After that japanese blogs I usually go o lurk reported the notable lack of publicity so while it's true the event jinxed the series way before it aired the companies involved didn't even try to fix it.
Bet they thought the name of Kamachi still meant something.
