In one book i see a "simplified causative form". I dont have it with me right now but one example is 食べさせる -> 食べさす
I figured its just a contraction, but i read somewhere it implies a more forceful "make ~ do ~"
For example with 食べさせる perhaps telling someone to eat and 食べさす being for something directly feeding them.
I've only seen this in one book. Anyone familiar with this? Does the info i gathered sound right?

Anything in particular you do to improve your listening abilities, DJT?
I'm running into a problem with radio shows, talk tracks, etc. where the speakers often talk so fast that it's difficult for me to actually keep up with what they're saying and I often have to rewind and replay multiple times.

Pretty obvious.

Does everything boil down to just getting your hands dirty and reading as much as possible? I've gone over vocab and grammar and yet I still have trouble reading. I sort of "get" what's being said but I can't really put it into words. I don't know if it's because I'm focusing too much on translating when I should just be trying to understand what I'm reading, or if I'm just retarded.

>>144196351
No, you better pay money to jalup and ajatt to get their magical anki decks, buy 10 different JLPT preparation books and grind them until you're fluent.
>>144196351
It's a mix of everything really, study more grammar, grind more vocab, read more, listen more, it's a matter of time before your brain adjusts itself to the speed, the difficulty and the nuances.
>>144195276

If you can mostly understand what is happening, I think that is enough. After reading 3 VNs and now 1/3 through my first LN there are lots of times where I don't understand what is going on at all and plenty of times where I misunderstand things. Unless is it seems really important, I just keep going and don't worry about it. If it does seem important I'll look up the translation or ask here.
I'm not saying this is the best way to do it because I would probably benefit from analyzing the sentences more or looking up grammar more often, but I think it is better than overanalyzing everything.
Just keep reading, and you will probably get better. I'm probably getting better, but I can't say for sure.

Memorization? I'm only 3 months in and I instantly recognized that word + the reading. I didn't even do kanji study but know that the kuruma one turns to "sha" and the ba one turns to "jyou". The only one I don't know is the chuu kanji at the beginning, however I know the word as a whole I automatically know it's chuushajyou when I see it.

も "even/as much as" in this case

I actually have pretty good reading. I'm not native level, for sure, as there are a ton of words that I don't know, but I can read shounen level manga, and most everyday Japanese speech with ease.
>>144247519
No nothing like that.
Nothing grammatical. All も and な do in that sentence is add feelings.
And yeah like >>144247550 said. Although ない can be shortened to ねぇ as in your sentence.
>>144247550
>>144247616
But there's things like
>するな
>>144247533
Actually I recall that I was definitely able to get Japanese subs for Hana Yori Dango done by some Chinese group and it helped a lot. Not sure how easy that shit will be to find now though since this was like three or four years ago.
>>144247533
I listen to a lot of Japanese interview Youtube channels like "that Japanese man Yuta" and "Ask Japanese", and these help me lots, but the videos are just too short to be of much help.
>>144247630
but that's not shortened ない..
>>144247630
Well verb plus な is just it's own construction and can't be replaced with するない for example.
Oh apparently d-addicts torrent section closed down.
That's gay.

I get a kanji like 九つ and next I get 掲示板
but somehow I managed it
I think I will restudy some kanji that was difficult today later, for now, I'll continue my grammar studies
I haven't done anki in like a week and a half.
I haven't quit, I just literally haven't been bothered to do it. Lately I've been letting it pile up and then doing like 95% of what's piled up all at once, just to let it pile up again.
At least I'm reading.

there may be duplicates when i go through the mining deck from the core 2/6k but whatever people here will not shut the fuck up about mining holy shit
