i don't think it'll be AOTS because of Zero shit and maybe other ones, but with hopes it'll get really high
Pretty good so far. The pacing feels a bit too fast, but it's only the first ep, so I still have high hopes for this.
The artstyle is fantastic, like a more polished version of One's work.
Reigen seems a bit over the top compared to how I remember him in the manga, but he's still good. I love his expressions and poses, and Sakurai is a perfect voice for him.

You're sick. It just feels like if I rub anything on screen, including the characters, they will feel grimy. I'm not saying that's bad per se, it's bad for a lighthearted comedy. Mob is dark in a few places later on, but it doesn't even have dark humor usually. This isn't even right for shounen action, this looks like there will be decapitations and guts involved.

OPM has serious societal commentary being delivered through silly set-ups, it's a pretty satirical series. And I'd say Saitama's "OKAY YEAH, I'M A FRAUD, FUCK ALL OF YOU" moment after beating Sea King wasn't really a "joke" per say.
OPM does the social criticism stuff too, see the happiness cult arc.

As an adaptation it is amazing. The visuals being heavily stylized are awesome. This adaptatation seems extremely faithful to the manga with respect to ONE's character design.
People judging it after one episode are funny, especially those saying "he's just Saitama". Mob Psycho is heavily character focused, you have to actually give the characters time to develop. I haven't read the beginning in a while so maybe it takes a bit to get going but it's very worth it. I love the source material, Reigen and Dimple are great characters. Body Improvement Club is the real deal. Ritsu's arc is great and when the manga really starts kicking into overdrive. I don't know how far the adaptation here will get, but hopefully it will give people a bigger idea of what Mob is all about. If not, whatever, I love it and will thoroughly enjoy it, other people don't have to like it.
The OST and OP are amazing too. I love the song, but even if you don't the visuals are fantastic.

OPM does take certain arcs very seriously, and when you actually take it for what its supposed to be (a parody of superhero shit and the entire media/hype surrounding it), it's a pretty good story. It's more silly in general than Mob, but when it takes itself seriously it's done very well. The Garou arc is fantastic, and this current arc with Fubuki and Tatsumaki is really pretty hard hitting.
OPM is good, but many of the people who watch the anime or read Murata's redraw can miss the point easily. Without ONE's pacing and paneling it loses a lot of luster.

Nope. The first half. Definitely. Everything after Mogami though? Shittier than anything in OPM. The Claw arc was fun and the Mogami arc is the shining point of the series, but nothing in Mob Psycho has ever come close to the Monster Association arc in enjoyability.
Claw Arc will basically spoil the Garou Arc for OPM normies, given that both arcs are very similar...

I'd say that the early part of the manga is pretty dry, but it definitely picked up after Dimple became a recurring character. The first "shit gets real" moment is when Teru strangles Mob and all shit hits the fan.
The anime is also covering that crossdressing at the private girls school chapter in the second episode, and that wasn't supposed to be until way after the initial Claw fight. I'm pretty happy with that, because that was one of my favorite chapters, and I didn't expect to see it animated for years.
Frankly, I'm surprised that the opening foreshadows the broccoli that protected Mob's heart during the explosion, considering that was only a few months ago.
It'll take a few episodes for this series to hit its stride, but that was to be expected.

The Mogami arc is a pretty critical character junction for Mob, Dimple, and Reigen, so there wouldn't be any real reason to skip it other than it being "unfitting" since it pops up between the two Claw arcs. It's still a long arc and goes through the nature of Mob's powers as well. I don't think they would skip it.
Though there is a lot to get to. They have to do the school club stuff, Dimple's arc, Ritsu's arc, and the Seventh Branch before they get to it.

No, Reigen always was afraid and bluffed his way through everything early on. He is constantly afraid that Mob will leave him and his business will collapse. Any time Mob says he is unhappy or wants to ask about something, Reigen assumes he is going to demand more pay or leave or just want to live his own life. Its not until later that he becomes a more confident leader (though he is still played for laughs sometimes). When he stands up for Mob in the Seventh Branch arc and refuses to leave him in the Mogami arc are more or less his big character steps forward.
All the people who keep saying "this gag is boring and will run its course" are going to hate that it goes on for a while early if they're already sick of it after one episode. I found it funny but until the Dimple and Ritsu arcs happen its pretty much just them busting ghosts together (and then that is interspersed throughout the rest of the story, like when they got the Kuchisake-onna

No. What Blast says to Tastumaki is not a conclusion that is in Mob's character to say, unless he gets betrayed by pretty much everyone he knows. I don't think ONE will end Mob Psycho on that kind of note. I'm not sure when or how it is going to end, though.
Blast in OPM really just seems like a Saitama that took it too far. Saitama mentioned before the current arc that he feels like he's irreparably lost something that made him a human (not just his hair) in exchange for his power. Compaing his flashback self to the person he's been in the comic, he clearly has lost a large element of compassion and humanity. Blast seems to be exactly the same way, and is more or less a foil for what Saitama could become, if he continues on his path of isolation.

No, I don't think Saitama's actually lost his compassion at all, he's still quite kind and heroic(actually more so I think, considering that the Saitama of three years ago even considered just leaving a kid to get killed by a crab monster) especially if you go by the bonus chapters.
I think a lot of what OPM is about is that Saitama perceives himself as having lost something essential and sees himself as no big deal when the thing that really makes him a hero he never lost.

It's satire, all of his super-powerful characters have incredibly mundane concerns which are, for them, almost insurmountable. Saitama is poor as hell and struggles to find success (climbing ranks, financial stability, popularity) and purpose, Mob is weak and awful with girls and just wants to be popular and confident (doesn't explicitly state it, but you can infer based on what his goals are), and Demon Dad from Makai no Ossan just wants to raise his family and be a salaryman or whatever.
They're all impossibly strong yet it's almost completely irrelevant to their goals. Another big thing ONE does is make sure almost every other character IS obsessed with upping their powerlevel and being a super strong Mr. Protagonist Guy or whatever, so their absurd goals contrast with the MCs normal ones.
