I did that and I kinda regretted that lost space. I figure that if I rewatch a show I would marathon it so movie format would make more sense. Then again, except for Rebellion I haven't watched those 2 first movies so I don't know how SHAFT handle it. Did they cut out something, "fix" something or not and generally it seem like it wasn't very well received.A movie would make it easier to show to people as well.

Personally I got both, but I usually go with the movies when I rewatch the show. Everything generally looks slightly better in the movies.
The first movie covers episode 1-8 and removes a few scenes, whereas the second movie adds a few scenes.
The soundtrack is a bit different, but I think it's just as good if not better than the series soundtrack. I do miss seeing Magia after every episode though.
Anyway, both the series and the movies are great and similar enough so it really doesn't matter which one you pick.
So, any news on the next installment of the franchise?
