The Dreamcast game is good as well, same developer. Just not as good as the PS2 one since the Dreamcast one is older, but the Dreamcast one has a brand new story written by Miura set between Volumes 22 and 23.
The PS2 game is just a faithful adaptation of Volumes 22 to 27 with an original mini story by Miura spliced inbetween to spice it up.

Never. You should realize that on the earlier arcs of Berserk where BotF were being fucked over during the eclipse and women were being raped and abused, Miura was practically friendless then.
Things changed, Berserk got popular, he ended up having actual friends that related to him in the forms of other mangaka such as Ken Akamatsu, he got exposed to moe and then he got introduced to Idolm@ster.
Miura is not alone anymore, and because of that, he's gone too soft. Guts now represents how soft he is now, while his armor represents the beast he thinks he used to be.

well the PS2 footage has more consistency than the new anime, it's like the cgi and the clasic japanese animation is figthing each other over the screen time, whe you start getting used to one it changes making everything look worse than it really is. some how they think that they will fool your brain in to thinking that this is a high quality production by giving more detail to the ilustrations on "important" scene. but than only works with traditional 2d animation, with 3d our brain expects consistency.

That is the entire point of my argument.
Griffith was not in a normal state of mind. Things did not go as he planned and he felt shit was starting to slip out of his hands because Guts left.

Not the OP, but I still don't completely understand Griffith's character.
I just know he was so charismatic and perfect hat he was basically characterless for the first half of the arc. We're never given a reason as to WHY he has such a lust for power or a genius mind other than it was his destiny to be a Demon.
Then Guts leaves, which causes him to sleep with the Princess. Someone he was't even romantically involved with, she was just another Pawn.
I understand being pride-stricken, but WHY would he do that? Was his attachment / reliance on Guts really so strong that he would just sacrifice EVERYTHING for seemingly no reason?
