The story is shit though and it's mostly grinding. Some of the main games would have been much better.
Most bishoujo games make for poor source material and I find I can't be bothered watching adaptations of scenarios I've already read in less mangled form anyway

from what i've seen, there's never been any anime adaptation for works by AkabeeSoft2 and any of the companies it spawned like Applique, Akatsuki Works, etc.
pic related is the one that puzzles me. other August works like Yoake yori Ruri iro na, Fortune Arterial and Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai all have anime adaptations. It's like they skipped their best work. Then again, Eustia is going to need lots of budget for the setting and action scenes

What makes it unadaptable?
I understand the unadaptability of something like the ML trilogy, byt G-senjou seems like one of those entry-level VNs that would transalte quite well to anime.

it's not as bad with G-Senjou.if ever, they're just going to have to make Maou not show his face with the camera on his back most of the time and make him have same seiyuu as MC to hide it. Jun Fukuyama can just do his Takanashi voice for the MC instead of Lelouch voice which Maou has.
in Sharin,they can make onee-chan the first perspective for most of the show then when the reveal comes, MC can look towards the screen, the camera pans out and reveals her.
it's literally impossible for Ever17 though.

But Galaxy Angel wasn't even based on the VN, the story was completely different and there are several differences in continuity. The VN actually came out after the anime. I will give you Koihime, as a Dynasty Warriors fan I expected cringeworthy stuff but actually enjoyed the whole thing.
I think Higanbana could make for a pretty decent anime series.

The more episodic nature and the much shorter length in comparison to the other crap that 07th Expansion has shoveled out would really lend itself to a tightly done anime.
