Well to be fair stuff like Pandemic fits the whole decreased ATK theme which works with stuff he ran like Shrink. Pandemic and Avatar have synergy too since the decreased life points can help make Avatar more viable and it has that built in burn to reference stuff like Ring of Destruction. Not to mention the Cubic burn effects help get the card's effect off faster, still highly situational nonetheless. Clearly Konami wanted to sell a ton of cards with this so Kaz just made a bunch of situational shit to make the duels more exciting. But those cards are not so out of place for Kaiba's deck since he did run stuff with similar effects in the past.

Dark Magic Veil is pretty good since it doesn't restrict to DM so Shaddols can use it too. The problem is it doesn't fix DM consistency problems which is the major issue. Deck needs more draw power and stuff like Cupidity is a game of chance for the deck.
Gadgets were solid cards but can really flourish with ABC
Blue-Eyes stuff is decent rouge tier and to be honest it doesn't need more broken support. It's a strong meta deck as it is already. Plus we're getting Alternative in the movie pack which is a bigger incentive for us to buy packs.
Magi girls are decent but rely on interaction with the opponent and can be easily bypassed with removal effects. They need better support to protect themselves from effects and force the opponent to attack them.
Cubics had Kozmo like floating effects in the movie so Konami nerfed them irl and some decent battle traps that allowed sp summoning from the deck ignoring summoning conditions to improve consistency
Swords is a solid trap card that can always be useful.
While not having a lot of meta defining cards there are a few good ones and the vast majority of stuff is very playable for pet decks so it appeases both meta players and casual fans. Plus taking into account this is a DM era movie the playability of the cards are largely restricted to that era too.

I wouldn't mind another Dark Magician Girl like monster for Magi Magi plays. Trance is nice but him not being a magician girl makes it difficult to use him. I say we should get a Banana Magician Girl, Orange Magician Girl and a Coco Magician Girl to make it even.

The 2 students from there that were in the Battle Royale weren't shown to be carded and last seen being beaten by Yugo. Dennis debuted in the series by intruding in on the duel between said students and Yuya.

It's not Kaito's fault that they didn't build up any Arc-V characters as strong duelists aside from Reiji. Everyone else is pretty fodder tier not counting Yuya who's bullshit tier. Invasion of Venom was a green set featuring a majority of new OCG and support for existing OCG cards. Raging Tempest means they have to fit in a lot of anime cards while keeping OCG support to a minmum because the next set in Jan will be the last one for Arc-V with the new show, method and set coming out around the same time.

All those characters aren't getting cards and I doubt Yugo gets another upgrade after only using Crystal Wing once. Yuri has only dueled once himself and his deck is shit. Most of the characters probably wont even use new cards if they duel.

Either way we won't know until September or August. Honestly I'm banking on xyz, Fusion Pendulum seems like something he'd have to use against Leo to show him that through his pendulum summons he was able to create an arc of connections through 3 dimensions.
The xyz may happen because Kaito loses against the guardian and Yuya steps up to the plate we know he beats Dennis and while he and Yuya are seperated there's really no reason for them to put Yuya and co against the guardian of the sun when Yugo already beat him and is dueling Rin. Through it could also mean that Kaito beat the guardian but is too injuries to take on the brainwashed Ruri making it perfect xyz stuff for Yuya,Yuto to wake Ruri up through this new monster.
Oh, and remember Yuto's line "I don't want to hurt you anymore"? That could also spurn Yuya into using his own xyz. Using Dark Rebellion, Dark Requiem or Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon would not fit a duel where Yuto is hesitating because his PTSD is acting up again.
