Could someone intelligent explain to me how the time traveling thing work in Dragonball? why didn't Trunks future timeline change when he saved Goku and the others? why is his future still a shit and act like a separate timeline? what did he accomplish by doing so? he didn't change a thing except getting stronger and killing the androids that were responsible for the whole mess (Cell included).
Time travel never works in a rational way, becuase it's inherently irrational

I think it creates alternate universes. I believe Trunks just went back in time to get stronger and so the androids wouldn't ruin another universe. Even though if Trunks never shown up Goku & crew would be facing Gero and that Clown android.
