I watched the raw out of spite because I thought Barakamon was meh tsukkomi with paperthin characters and messages, not even good for background porn and particularly liked by dickbrain tomboy- and other fags.
This ep had a couple of laugh out loud moments in Handa's autism and the prologue, music, art and direction with the usual mild reaction faces and stills was bog standard school anime though and I can't imagine it being any more worthwhile than the manga since timing always screws up some jokes in manga to anime.

They are completely separate series made by completely separate studios, it's not like it's one or the other. You wouldn't get more Barakamon if they decided not to make Handa kun, and Handa kun being made can't stop Barakamon getting a second season.

I don't know how anyone could say Handa didn't develop, it's basically thw entire premise of the series. The other characters didn't really need to change much (although some did), because their role was to be catalysts for Handa's development.
It sounds like that anon wants their personalities to completely change. Why would a character need to lose their 'archetype' (ie very superficial behavioural traits) to develop and grow as a person?

But the fujo wasn't just a fujo, sure it was a gimmick used semi-frequently but it wasn't all she had to her. Saying all she had was being a stereotypical fujo is like saying all Naru had to her was being a bratty kid.
She was just a side character, so she isn't going to have that much depth naturally.
