Yes, but we don't use "isekai" because it's become popular to refer to random shit as isekai.
We use it because there's a lot of isekai going around so the word gets thrown around a lot.
Ironically enough the way you and people here use buzzword, as a fashionable meaningless statement you can tack on to anything that gets mentioned more than two times a day, makes "buzzword" a buzzword.
