The plot is there but not presented in the best manner. It's decent enough. Though as >>143766818 pointed out, it's certainly deep in terms of developing the psychology of its characters.
The characters? Some of them and their flaws have real depth, but it's mostly a straight deconstruction of it's genre. Great music, though.
