Except it wasn't his idea to make a sequel to begin with. William Street went to I.G. once they bought the license since Gainax rightfully told them to fuck off when they wanted to do a sequel them they begged him to be on board even though he's created it as an "executive producer" on the whole thing also they're not brining back the same team just the character designer and The Pillows and if you thought that was what made FLCL good then you're a fucking idiot.

Come on man, I know what you mean about The Pillows. Their inclusion added a lot to the show and how people view it, but there's A LOT of other shit behind the scenes that actually made FLCL good.
