The pacing and direction is all over the place, almost jarring, while the soundtrack is horrendous compared to the movies and the original series.

I would watch this show even with the terrible visuals if that was the only flaw it had. But sadly that isn't true.
Some scenes had the epic soundtrack from the movies and felt atmospheric and other scenes were way too fast, so trashy, with really bad metal music in the background.
The problem with this series that its not just the visuals that make it bad. It's everything.

When Guts was eating the rabbit, I thought it looked like it still had fur on it, but the scene flashed by so quickly I thought I must have been seeing things because no one could be stupid enough to think depicting Guts eating a rabbit with its fur on was a good idea. But in the manga, and in the original 1997 anime, Guts has a distinct reason for kicking the asses of those guys in the bar. In this he's just... a jerk?
