Berserk takes place in a medieval fantasy world where fairies exist.
Puck is a useful and important (albeit small) asset to the narrative and a central character, whether you like him or not.
The only crime Miura has done is he stopped drawing him as a character and now makes him only a blob and nothing else.

Nope, it's shitty. The only way I was able to get through it was because I watched it while airing, so the low frequency of one episode a week make it slightly more bearable. Even then, it was by far the worst show I'd ever seen, and its only redeeming quality was that it was unintentionally funny at time and had funny discussion on /a/.

Just re-read everything between Guts leaving and the eclipse starting. Hoooly shit I didn't remember that amount of awkward tension with gripple-griffith and so many feels in general.
Honestly this panel fucking killed me for some reason, After a little reflective monologue she just looks straight at Guts and drops a line that seems endearing at first, but her expressions and body language are just pained. Very bittersweet moments between them leading up to the eclipse.

I would honestly like it if it wasn't for the horrible animation, i mean fuck the soundtrack is really fucking good so far, pacing is a bit odd near the end of the episode but other than that it's understandable that some compromises had to be made (like Isidro being introduced so early), if not for the shitty CGI i'd say the guys in charge seem to understand what Berserk is about, nice atmosphere

Is this cgi any worse than other cgi shows? I think it's the uncanny valley of it all. Miura always went for a more realistic approach when drawing and the cgi shows that I can think of that are prominent all embrace a more cartoon feel.
Also, I've never been much into cgi, but has anyone else seen shading done the way they are trying it in this one? Usually they bother to shade a face with fading layers, but we are seeing obvious attempts at trying to shade with hatching. Are the two just incongruous or is it just done poorly for this anime?
I feel like they are making an honest effort on the anime. The art isn't awe-inspiring but I'm not watching this for enlightenment. Every time they start this shit over we have to hear the same beginning again and again and again. I've accepted that. So I'll keep watching and try not to jump to too critical an opinion on it all until it at least gets on its legs.

The animation itself wasn't that much worst than RWBY's. It's the fucking directing that's shit, with the way the camera seems to move at random, without any real sense of direction, and making it impossible to really follow the action.
On that note, brace yourselves. 10 years from now, THIS will be the standard anime style.

What's the difference between the TV-series and the movies in terms of content, and animation? I know the movies basically condense the 25 episodes of the TV series into 3 movies, but which is the better "experience?"

I haven't seen the individual episodes, but I have seen the movies. The animation of the movies looks the same as the anime with less of that pencil shading stuff, and it cuts out some Griffith scenes, political intrigue, and demon encounters with the Band of the Hawk
In all honesty, the animation looked so stiff and soulless. Guts's actor felt like he was phoning it in, the animation felt so cheap.
