She didn't even show up until much later, and only for a few minutes of total screentime. In fact, I was surprised Tanaka's sister was mentioned, yet didn't pop up next episode, which is what usually happens with siblings.
But Shiraishi was practically shoehorned in. You could tell just what kind of a character she was, yet they still bothered with banal exposition and whatnot.

The first episode is easily the best though. It best portrays Tanakas philosophy and his friendship with Ohta which are the core elements of the show. It has the strongest lazy lilting tone which makes the show so calming and enjoyable to watch. Must suck just to care about waifu faggotry.
