Depends on the setting. Griffith loses in the modern world (even if he keeps magic abilities), Johann loses in the medieval world. Fish-out-of-water stories where the out-of-water one pwns everything are shit and trash. In the realistic scenario they would die during first or second day just from not knowing the rules and sticking out too much.
