I honestly prefer XYZ to Gen 1.
Gen 1 is more enjoyable in a more obvious way, e.g comfy atmosphere, good comedy.
XYZ is enjoyable because the story is actually going somewhere for once, the animation is ridiculous, and the fight scenes are really good.
